This isn’t a song. It’s not a tune. It’s not a composition or a jingle. It’s a sound.
This sound was composed in the late 50s by Russian scientists who believed their technology was advanced enough to be able to summon demons from the depths of hell through sound waves. The government funded them and allowed them to go on with their research.
About a few weeks later, the scientists had all disappeared. Their lab had been completely destroyed, the equipment smashed, the walls covered with faint traces of blood. A few decades later a team of American scientists traveled to this old, dilapidated, forbidden lab to see the site of this tragedy.
They found a machine with a vinyl record on it. They were smart enough not to play it, and sent it back to their home country.
In 2001, this track was released on a website. I came upon it back in my younger years and read all this on the main page, along with a link to the mp3 file. I kept it on a USB drive, where I decided that someday I would come up with the courage to listen to it.
Today is not that day.
But here it is. Here is the audio file that has been forbidden for the past 60 years.
Play it at your own risk.
